Add Additional Focal Points For Extra Colour (Optional) The coat changes to the colour I chose with the Color Picker and does a good job in maintaining light and dark areas. Click OK on the Color Picker to see the colour applied. Choose the colour you want to add to this area. If you feel your image has too much red, drag the Cyan/Red slider to the left to reduce red and increase Cyan, and drag the Magenta/Green slider to the right to reduce magenta and increase green. The second set of Adjustments is a group of sliders that allow you to work with specific colours and saturation. Having tested this out with lots of old black-and-white photos, I’ve found this to work amazingly well. With this one click, Photoshop will assign colours to your image using AI. Once the filter is downloaded, you can enable it by clicking on the small circle button beside the filter name. For example, in this image, changing the Hue made a significant difference on some of the signs over the street – at one position the text was all the same shade of gray and in another position the text was lighter against a dark sign. Use the Hue slider to change the colors in the underlying image with the result that different colors will tend towards being light and others tend towards being dark. Adjusting Saturation will also make the image darker or lighter. This opens the Hue/Saturation/Lightness dialog. Select the bottommost layer in the image and select Enhance > Adjust Color > Adjust Hue/Saturation. We can now adjust the bottom layer to change the black and white image. This ensures the top layer’s hue (color) shows but uses the layers below to provide the lightness and saturation for the image.
